For a long time I have already been asking myself the question, “How come smoking bad for your health?”. The reason why I ask myself this question is easy and goes such as a statement by Mark Twain “Why I don’t wish to be a poison addict, I’d be out on a limb!” What Twain says is that should you smoke a cigarette and then decide that you don’t want to smoke anymore, you’d be a lot out of luck. There are multiple reasons why smoking is bad for your health. I will outline two of these here.

The first reason that I want to get down to why is smoking bad for your health is because of the high levels of carcinogens in cigarettes. When you smoke a cigarette you’re unknowingly inhaling thousands upon a large number of carcinogens that have been placed into the air through the tobacco, the oil found in the packing and the way it really is processed. These carcinogens penetrate deep into your lungs and create thousands of several types of cancer over their lifetime. This includes lung cancer, mouth cancer, throat cancer, esophageal cancer and cervical cancer to mention a few.

Now, there are various types of cancer that you could suffer from due to your smoking habits, but the thing to bear in mind here is that you merely have one body. Everything that you ingest or create within your body is passed during your system via your lungs. You therefore have to keep this at heart when taking into consideration the potential risks of smoking. Secondly, smoking creates a weak disease fighting capability, which increases your threat of colds and the flu. When you are already susceptible to colds and the flu, then smoking definitely decreases the rate at which the body can fight off these common illnesses. Also, smokers have a problem with digestion, thus causing them to have problems with several digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. The nicotine in cigarettes causes your arteries to constrict, increasing your heartrate and blood pressure. The consequence of this increased stress in your heart and circulatory system is premature aging and poor health.

Thirdly, smokers undergo more changes in their bodies due to smoking. The nicotine increases your cravings for food and cause you to be less tolerant of cold temperatures. Your body doesn’t sweat and for that reason you cannot control your body temperature effectively, leading to fast weight loss. Should you have a pre-existing medical condition, this may put you at risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, strokes, lung disease, raised blood pressure, kidney failure and other serious health conditions.

Finally, if you smoke, you are more likely to get sick. Many studies show that regular smokers suffer more serious illnesses than Electric Tobacconist non-smokers.
